Christine Vivona, harpist, received a Master of Music from The Juilliard School in 1986 and a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Arizona in 1989. She has appeared extensively in New York and Arizona, performing in the Chaminade and Bisbee concert series, the Tucson and Phoenix symphonies, and is currently on the roster for the Arizona Commission on the Arts.

Dr. Vivona frequently appears with symphonies in the Southwest performing both classical concertos and jazz pieces arranged for harp and symphony or band. She was a soloist with Lazlo Veres and his Wind Ensemble twice during the 2003 season. Since 1986 to the present, Christine has been an entertainer on various cruise ships throughout the world. In the spring of 1990, Christine performed on a Columbia Artist Community Concert tour in the U.S. and Canada, with Larry Logan, a classical harmonica player. Christine took over the U of A harp program for Dr. McLaughlin during the fall 1998 semester.

Christine has participated in music festivals and workshops in Aspen, Colorado and in California, and attended the 1987 International World Harp Congress in Vienna, Austria. In May of 1991, she was a major prizewinner at the Lyon & Healy International Pop and Jazz harp fest. Vivona was showcased in the June 1997 Jazzfest in Monterrey, California.

In the winter of 2002, Dr. Vivona performed a three-month run of Arizona Theater Company's The Fantasticks both in Tucson and in Phoenix. She started the harp program at Arizona State University in Tempe in the fall of 1989 and taught there until Spring 2000. She currently lives in Tucson with her musician husband, Rob Boone, and sons Jesse and Cory. She can be heard several times a week playing classical, jazz, country and popular selections.
